VIU will be funding a total of three (3) scholarships to begin in Fall 2019 to support Belizean and Tanzanian graduate students to pursue studies at VIU related to the program theme of Building Resilience in Coastal Communities. Scholars will receive funding to cover tuition, living and travel expenses to pursue a VIU Master's Degree in an eligible discipline.

The scholarships represent a unique opportunity for experiential learning, the development of cross-cultural understanding and communication skills, and first-hand research or field work experience in an international context.

Participants in the program will also be expected to contribute to the growing Queen Elizabeth II Diamond Jubilee “Community of Scholars” through disseminating findings, networking, making presentations, organizing or participating in national and local events, mentoring other Scholars, and actively and creatively supporting the success of the BRiCC Program.
